Got this bloke at my gym who must be some kind of assasin. There can be no doubt about it. It's his dress sense that gives him away. I wonder of anyone else has noticed...
Usually, people who go to the gym wear shorts and t-shirts or some kind of tracksuit thing. This guy doesn't.

He's all in black. Black trousers. Not tracksuit trousers but just black trousers. He invariably wears black trainers. Granted, that is standard gym attire...but a black military style vest isn't. And there is the tan line on both his arms. It's october. You don't get tan lines in october. The clincher for me though, that really blows his cover is the fact that he wears a black cap. Not a baseball style one but a Veitnam-era one with no visable signs of motif. This is all topped off by his black, circular 'sunglasses'. When he arrives at the gym, he's not wearing them but actually changes into them to workout. He also seems militaristic in the way he conducts himself. Very upright when walking.

Perhaps the reason that i'm concerned by this bloke is that he always talks to me and seems disportionatially happy to see me.

Of course, he could just be some bloke who is friendly and likes dressing in black who works out around the samed time as me.
I'll keep taps on him, just in case.

Apologies...too much religious stuff lately. It's funny how things come in 3's. But, I just can't help it. I think it's because it's depressing. The 'Church' this, the 'Bible' this and people live their lives by it. Perhaps I should. Perhaps I am wrong and that i'm truly going to hell. I need hard fact and evidence. Religion doesn't particuarly offer that and that is why I have problems with it. Some of it is all 2000 year old gossip, some if it is not true and some of it should be taken literally.
__But, milions and millions don't agree with me. It seems like the most 'powerful' man in the world doesn't and that's upto him and the 'others'.

I just can't get my head round what is happening these days. 'God' told me to do this or that. If I killed someone or went upto someone and whacked them and told everyone that 'God' told me to, I would be taken to a Mental Hospital and classes as 'ill', yet Bushy boy says that 'God' told him to kill x/y/z in the Middle East and nothing. Nothing happens.

I despair. I really want to say a whole lot of things but what is the point. I am just some random in a random place randomly doing random things. I can't change anything. I don't particulrly have a voice. I can't make that one decsion that would change 'things'. Am powerless to stop or alter anything even if it's wrong.

George Bush has claimed he was on a mission from God when he launched the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, according to a senior Palestinian politician in an interview to be broadcast by the BBC later this month.

Mr Bush revealed the extent of his religious fervour when he met a Palestinian delegation during the Israeli-Palestinian summit at the Egpytian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, four months after the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003.


One of the delegates, Nabil Shaath, who was Palestinian foreign minister at the time, said: "President Bush said to all of us: 'I am driven with a mission from God'. God would tell me, 'George go and fight these terrorists in Afghanistan'. And I did. And then God would tell me 'George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq'. And I did."

Mr Bush went on: "And now, again, I feel God's words coming to me, 'Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East'. And, by God, I'm gonna do it."

And, by God are we doomed?

Another day...another day without class. University Festival this week which sees classes cancelled for the duration. I think that means that I have 9 days 'off' in total. Certainly not complaining, though it does mean that there are no further day's off until the end of semester in December. It does sometimes feel like I don't have a full time job, although i guess you could argue that once ateacher always a teacher whether that is inside the class or outside of it.

...Apparantly, the Bible might not actually be true.The Scottish Catholic Church has admitted that much. Nice of them to say so. What of all those generations of people who followed and believed word for word. They must be fairly annoyed. I have just cut and pasted what they said. I have not altered it in any way...strange how the 'untrue' bits are longer than the 'true' bits.

Mine. It's crap. Can't even hold a basic conversation yet. It's depressing.

Phrase of the week: 'It shouldn't have happened'

Uttered by our 'Dear' leader, Tony. Alas, he was not referring to a certain 'war' but talking about the old bloke who was chucked out of the Labour Party Conference for shouting 'Nonsense'. Well Tony, i'll go 1 step further...he shouldn't have been detained under the Terrorism Act. 1984here we come.

Sight of the week: 'Tripping'

Not that one...but the actual act of tripping up over something. If ever I see someone trip over on the street or anywhere actually, I just find it soo funny. I try really hard to look concerned and if I know the person, ask if they are o.k. but in actual fact i'm doing my best to stop laughing. It's a terrible habit and one which should have stopped when I was 8 years old but there you go. The reason I mention is it I saw this big butch bloke walking towards me...clearly trying to act all masculine but then suddenly and inexplicably he tripped - actually, it more of a stumble - and in doing so lost all his masculine aura. I pretended to look the other way, as if I wanted to cross the street but if I looked at him, I knew what would happen. Thankfully, I got passed him before this huge grin appeared on my face. Childish? Yes.

Song of the week: 'Westilife'

An interesting choice this week. Not because I like it or even tolerate it but because most of my students seem to be singing the damn thing. What's going on...did it appear on some tv ad or something. It's doing me nut.

If you got 100 or even a 1000 gorillas and 'taught' them all sign language and 'taught' them how to use and make simple tools then let them back into the wild...would they use their new found knowledge with their 'families'.

You could leave them to get on with it and then in 5 years return. What would happen?

Would they have used their new found knowledge or would they just revert back to their normal way of life?

And if they do did ...would we have altered the evolutionary course of these gorillas.
